MY story
Kimberly is a 16 year-old junior at Flushing High School. She is incredibly involved in her school and community, and a well-rounded individual. She plays euphonium in the school's Wind Ensemble and baritone in their competitive marching band. She is an active member of a plethora of service, academic, and leadership clubs in and out of her high school. Some of her favorites include, Mu Alpha Theta, a national math society; Quiz Bowl; Key Club International, an international service group; Students Helping Individuals in Need Everywhere (SHINE); Student Council; Young Life, a Christian based religious outreach group; and Flushing City Youth Council, a group which works to better improve our community.
Leadership
Kimberly has always been a natural leader. She strives to consistently show this in every action and in every decision. She is an important member of Student Council, on her class's executive board, the treasurer of SHINE, in addition to many other roles within her school. Whilst making every possible effort in being the best she can be in every aspect of her life, she encourages her friends and acquaintances to be the absolute best they can be in every aspect of their lives.
Education
Kimberly is a full time student enjoying high school to it's fullest extent. She is currently taking Chemistry, Physics, PreCalc, Economics I/American Government, AP English Language, and Wind Ensemble. She is maintaining a 4.0+.
Academics
After graduating from high school in 2011, Kimberly wishes to pursue Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Genetics at Michigan Technological University. She loves learning to an unnatural extent.
Daily Routine
Kimberly is always on the go. Her planner is a mountain of sticky notes and reminders for club meetings, practices, rehearsals, and endless other things. She loves being busy, and will never settle for an unused block of time. She has two very supportive parents, a little brother whom she absolutely adores, and an incredible group of very supportive and loving friends. Whenever she doesn't have any of the aforementioned plans, she hangs out with her friends at movie nights, coffee places, or at the park. Under all circumstances she seeks to make positive and informed decisions and lives by the following words of William A. Ward: “Four steps to achievement: Plan purposefully. Prepare prayerfully. Proceed positively. Pursue persistently.”
