MY Story

I am 26 years old and currently live in Sterling Heights.  Outside of MYLead I love to spend time with my family, friends and my boyfriend of more than eight years.  I love to be travel, paint, read and spend time outside.  I put my whole heart into each activity that I am part of and have found that through MYLead I have been able to see the reward of that through the happiness of the students, donors, and other volunteers. 

Leadership

This is my third year being involved in MYLead.  I have been a GF for the past two years and now the Director of Recruitment.  I have always taken a leadership role in my life whether it is through school, MYLead, work or other activities.

Employment

I am an account executive for Cumulus Broadcasting in Flint, Mich.  I work with businesses locally and regionally to create effective marketing and advertising campaigns to increase their business and share in the market. It is a fast-paced and exciting job that allows me to utilize my leadership skills daily. 

Academics

I graduated from Clio High School in 2001.  I then went on to Central Michigan University where I recieved my Bachelors of Science in Communication Disorders/Speech Pathology with an emphasis on Alternative and Augmentative Communication.  I hope to return to obtain my Masters in Speech Pathology. 

Daily Routine

Well I am a little OCD so not having a routine for each day does not ever happen!! During the week I get up at 5:30 a.m.  and get ready for work which consists of coffee, packing lunch and getting my dog ready to go to doggie daycare!  I leave for work at about 6:45 a.m., due to my hour drive to work and the traffic that I sit in for most of my drive!  My work routine basically involves calling clients, driving, negotiating, meetings and much more!  My time is scheduled to the minute each day and varies depending on the day of the week. At 5:30 p.m. I pick up my puppy and drive home where I cook dinner for myself and Mike and clean up the house and continue to work from home.  I normally don't sit and relax until about 930 p.m. at night and try to be in bed by 10:30 p.m.! On the weekends I love to take walks and spend time with my family and friends.  Its a great time for me to relax and take a little "me" time before the week starts over again.
