MY story
I was a bit reserved as a kid, but I attended a program similar to MYLead when I was a sophomore in high school that made a huge positive impact on my perception of myself and what I can accomplish. Each year I work to pass that experience on to a new group of students...to help them understand that there is a need for leadership, and that they have the ability to be positive leaders that meet that need. I was part of the group that founded MYLead in 2003, and am really excited about the team of great people that we have volunteering for MYLead today.
Leadership
I'm currently a member of the MYLead corporate board, and formerly held positions of Conference Chairperson, Programming Director, and Fundraising Chairperson for MYLead. At work, I was recently appointed Senior Engineer. During college, I was president of the Mechanical Engineering honor society Pi Tau Sigma, and I also held the position as class president at Lake Orion High School.
Employment
I am an engineer at Ford Motor Company, working in the area of chassis control systems. During the first two years at Ford, I participated in a rotational program where I gained an understanding of the company from Marketing to Manufacturing and everything in between. For the last seven years, I have been working on Roll Stability Control systems for trucks and SUV's.
Academics
I did my B.S. (1997) and M.S. (1999) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. (Go Blue!) I graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1993.
Daily routine
My wife Michelle is a physician, and is starting a new career in rehabilitation and sports medicine with Alegiance Health in Jackson, MI. We live in Dexter, Michigan. Hobbies include boating, swimming, roller blading, skiing, and travelling.
