MY story

Brad is a 16 year-old junior at Grosse Pointe South High School. He is an avid musician, enduring athlete, and determined scholar. He plays trumpet and euphonium in the school bands, and piano in the school jazz band. He is a varsity swimmer at Grosse Pointe South, and swims competitively year-round. Maintaining a 4.0 and better GPA, Brad strives to achieve not only his own success, but that of his friends, family, and peers.

Leadership

Leadership has been natural for Brad in a friendly, motivational, and successful manner. He has shown leadership in school, extra-curricular activities, and in everyday life. Brad has the ability to be a leader in such a way that others do not feel belittled nor offended, but rather in a way that gets everyone excited about a cause and finds ways for all to contribute in some way, allowing everyone to achieve. There is a careful balance between a leader, and a ruler, and Brad

Employment

At the age of ten years, Brad established a computer sales and repair business, which he named BCS Computers. His leadership background and his company have grown hand in hand, and this is no coincidence. Faced with constant problems with not only a customer’s computer, but with a customer his or herself, Brad has been able to problem-solve and build his leadership skills. An aspiring entrepreneur, Brad has not only managed to run this 100 customer business, but he continuously thinks of new ways to provide a service for a demand. From network marketing, to his most recent venture, a chauffeur service, Brad has found ways to experience the business world while still in high school.

Academics

Brad has managed to maintain a 4.0 grade point average throughout his entire educational career. He is involved in the most rigorous curriculum offered at his school. He has a strong biology background, and was chosen in the 2007-2008 school year to participate in a study at Henry Ford Hospital in Downtown Detroit to test the DaVinci robot, which is the latest in minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery. In the summer of 2008, Brad was chosen to be involved in the St. John Health System’s Shadow Program, in which he would follow a doctor in a different department each day, for one month in the summer, in order to see and experience the different departments of medicine.

Daily routine

Brad loves spending time with his family, especially up north at his cottage in Hubbard Lake, Michigan. He enjoys waterskiing, wakeboarding, and barefooting. In the winter, Brad swims competitively, and snow skis with his friends and family. Some interests of Brad’s include business, biology, music, and sociology. Brad is an only child, and has lived in Grosse Pointe for his entire life. He is conducting a church ensemble which has been put together with musicians at his school. His parents are very supportive of all his endeavors, and they are greatly appreciated by Brad, for they are the source of his inspiration in all he does.  Brad never hesitates to achieve what seems to be impossible, for he lives by the philosophy as follows: "The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials." – Chinese proverb
